Welcome to the WPS SEPAC- First meeting this Wednesday!

We hope you had a wonderful summer and are feeling ready for a new school year! The SEPAC Board has been busy over the summer preparing a calendar of meetings, trainings, and community events. We've also been working with the district to help select the Interim Director of Student Services, Kristen Beaupre.

This school year is shaping up to be an important and transformative one for special education in the Watertown Public Schools. There will be many opportunities for parents, caregivers, staff, and community members to share their perspectives and help strengthen student services.

To grow our active SEPAC community and bring more families together. Every family brings a unique perspective, and your participation helps us better understand how district policies, practices, and services are working for our diverse community.

The easiest way to get involved is to join us at a monthly meeting. Come to our first meeting of the year, which will include a chance to meet the interim director, learn more about a special election to fill the SEPAC board, get to know other families, and share what matters to you. We'd love to see you there!

Advisory and Feedback: Special Education Parent Advisory Councils (SEPACs) are district-wide, parent-run groups that provide valuable feedback to school districts about special education and Section 504 programs, policies, and services.

Community and Connection: SEPAC helps families of children with disabilities connect with one another and build community by encouraging communication among families, school staff, and school leadership.

All parents and caregivers in Watertown Public Schools are welcome! Your child does not need to have an active IEP or 504 plan to participate.
