Eileen Donahue Named MIAA Field Hockey Coach of the Year
Raiders field hockey coach Eileen Donahue has been named the MIAA's Field Hockey Coach of the Year for 2023-2024, the latest honor in her long and storied 39-year career.
Under Coach Donahue's leadership, the Raiders capped off the 2023 season with their third-straight state championship, defeating Newburyport 4-3 in the Division III state final. It was the 21st championship of Donahue's career.
Along the way, she recorded her 750th career win, making her one of the winningest coaches in the history of high school field hockey in the United States. Donahue is one of just eight coaches to reach the 700-win plateau and only two coaches in history are members of the 800-win club. She is the winningest coach in Massachusetts program history.
Additionally, Donahue and the Raiders set the national record for consecutive shutouts (41) en route to last year's championship. They broke a nearly 25-year-old national record previously held by Garden City, New Jersey at 32 games.
Donahue will be recognized at the 2023-2024 MIAA Awards Banquet on December 11 at the Doubletree hotel in Milford, MA.
