Preschool Open Enrollment

We’re happy to announce that enrollment is now open for our Preschool Program at Early Steps!

If you know a family looking for a nurturing and engaging environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow, please let them know about our program. We’d be thrilled to welcome them into our Early Steps Family!

Children must be three years old to register. Spaces are limited, so don’t wait to reach out!

Caregiver Meet and Greets

The Watertown Public Schools Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging invites families and caregivers to a series of informal Caregiver Meet & Greets this fall at the Watertown Free Public Library. Led by Director Dr. Ceronne Daly, these gatherings offer a welcoming space to connect with one another and with the district as partners in your child’s education.

All gatherings are held in person from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Watertown Free Public Library. Light Snacks will be provided.

Human Rights Commission Logo Contest

The Watertown Human Rights Commission is launching a logo design contest. This contest is open to all Watertown youth.

Submit your artwork to dnewton@watertown-ma.gov by October 22, 2025. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the artwork may be featured as the official WHRC logo.

WEA Blood Drive

The Watertown Educators Association is holding a blood drive on Wednesday, October 29 in the Watertown Middle School cafeteria. The drive will run from 2-7 p.m. and supports the American Red Cross.

The United States Attorney's Office is holding an online safety webinar The event is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 22.

English Learner Parent Advisory Committee Meetings

The English Learner Parent Advisory Committee has announced its schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.

Meetings are once a month on Mondays at 7 p.m. To RSVP, please text 617-581-8200. Interpreters are available if requested.

Anti-Bias Coalition Meetings

The WPS Anti-Bias Coalition has announced their meeting dates for the 2025-2026 School year.

October 20, November 25, December 15, January 5, February 23, March 30, April 28
May 26, June 29. All meetings run from 5:30-7 p.m.

The ABC stands together to promote equity and inclusion through transformative conversations, education, and activism for children and their caregivers in Watertown.

Walker Pond Community Meeting

Please join the City of Watertown at the second meeting for the future Walker Pond Park on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 6pm at the Jewish Community Day School, located at 57 Stanley Avenue in Watertown. At the meeting, you will learn about community feedback and survey results from the first meeting in August to help shape the overall community vision for the site. The landscape architects will present draft design concepts based on the community feedback, and then you will be able to share more ideas and feedback for the future of the Park.

Following the community meeting #2, the City will also release an online survey to collect input on the design options. The 3rd and final community meeting will be held later this year.

Local Election Polling Location Changes

This year, the City of Watertown will no longer be using the Elementary or Middle Schools as polling locations for the upcoming local election on November 4, 2025. Your polling location is based on your voter registration address and may be affected by this change.

Please visit the city website at watertown-ma.gov/votinglocations to see the updated locations by district and precinct, and to look up your polling locations for this November!
