Idita Read™ at Hosmer Elementary
Hosmer Elementary is sponsoring the Idita Read™ from February 28th through April 1st! Mush the Hosmer Husky 1112 miles, from Anchorage to Nome by reading more than your usual 30 minutes per day. As the Iditatrod race gets underway, students at Hosmer Elementary will be participating by reading as much as they can to proceed through the Iditarod map.

The Siberian husky, shown here, is a working dog. It has a smooth outer coat and a downy undercoat. The individual pictured here is tan with white markings. However, Siberian huskies can also possess predominantly gray or black coloring. The dog stands 20 to 23 inches (51 to 58 centimeters) high and weighs 35 to 60 pounds (16 to 27 kilograms).
