Please read the following resources collected for Professional Development on Mandatory Trainings:

Non-Discrimination Policy - this will be the topic of the round table review for which this will either be a refresher or a primer.

Sexual Harassment - This page describes sexual harassment and what happens in a sexual harassment investigation.  Also presented and highly recommended is a 12:46 minute video on sexual harassment.

Harassment Reporting - The harassment protocol explains what you as an employee should do to report harassment if you or one of your students reports harassment to you.  This includes whom to contact and any other avenues under which to address your or your students complaint.

Reporting Abuse and Neglect - Describes your obligations as a mandated reporter.  As a mandated reporter, you must know your obligations and avenues under which you can support a student suffering abuse or neglect, which includes harassment as noted above.  Included with this information is a 6:28 minute video on abuse and neglect. This page specifically defines abuse, neglect, and your responsibilities. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO VIEW THIS VIDEO

Civil Rights - This page briefly describes the statutes under which your civil rights and those of your students are created.

For additional civil rights material - the Watertown Public Schools Civil Rights Training Manual is available on our website as well (as a PDF).
